IA Interior Architects have completed the new offices of global activity and event marketplace ACTIVE Network located in Dallas, Texas.
ACTIVE Network engaged IA in their global relocation from San Diego, CA to Dallas, TX with the goal of creating an efficient and branded space that would attract and retain employees.
The IA design team created custom brand elements that incorporate ACTIVE Network’s culture throughout the building’s open floorplates. An all-hands ‘park’ space allows for the entire company to meet together and features a media wall, playful sculptures, a stage, grab-and-go concessions, help desk and an adjacent ‘tavern.’ Open, benching workstations for employees encourages collaboration, and private spaces wrapped in glass maximize transparency across the floorplates.
Each floor is activity themed and showcases ACTIVE Network’s brand and culture. A new, interconnecting staircase constructed after move-in allows for easy access between levels and encourages staff collaboration and movement throughout the space. The project was set to a fast-paced schedule and completed with an early demolition package and accelerated construction document issue.
A well-defined balance was created between work environments and leisure environments. IA was able to produce an important distinction between the focused work environments and the areas for entertainment and relaxation, in the latter pushing the boundaries for an exaggerated, playful design aesthetic. The end result has truly helped to satisfy their initial goal; ACTIVE successfully attracted talent in the Dallas area, and their office space is filling up rapidly.
