DSP Design Associates have created the new offices of financial services corporation Visa located in Bangalore, India.
Visa’s new office in Bangalore is its first ever research & development center in India – an inspiring, young and fun workspace for the new employees. The most challenging task while designing the facility was to convert the retrofitted space to a completely new facility in 2 phases. This being the first of its kind Visa workspace in India it was a great responsibility to build an office which is a reflection of Visa San Francisco office fitted well in Indian culture.
While planning first office for Visa India the regular task of designing a workspace turned into an affair of fun and frolic as “FUN” was the keyword for the project. Every space designed has fun as the underlying character. Spread across 2 floors, Visa’s office is designed for 800+ modern young professionals who enjoy balancing work and fun. The outdoors is made a part of the scheme with artificial Golf putting greens, graphics of beaches, mountains, trekking etc. Playful seating, interactive play wall, living room spaces, work cafes create unique thought provoking collaborative zones rendering opportunities for impromptu discussions and exchange of ideas, employee interaction & engagement.
Each collaboration zone and meeting room is unique in its aesthetic treatment & seating options and planned at regular intervals across the workspace. The ceilings and walls are treated with acoustic panels to provide necessary sound absorption. Work Café’s, hot desks and booths provide ample “Activity Based Working” options. Workstations have low screens allowing teams to communicate effectively without barriers. A well-equipped gym and a daycare facility help employees strike a healthy work life balance.
The Café is designed to host a townhall for 400 people at a time. The prominent branding of Visa along with video walls and green walls form the focal point of the terrace set up.
The interiors reflect a technology oriented image of the company – Visa graphics and artwork, digital ‘Selfie’ wall, asymmetrical video wall wireless displays etc. form this state of the art facility. Wireless AV is provided in each area to foster faster and easier global connectivity. The graphics used across the office reflect the vision and values of Visa’s global brand. Blue and Yellow – the Visa logo colors are used wisely to reinforce the brand’s identity. The final workspace that has emerged is “Whimsical and Smartly Functional”. It has as much fun built into it as they were spaces for serious focused work.
