Vocon has developed a new office space for global provider of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals and decorative and functional surfaces OMNOVA Solutions located in Beachwood, Ohio.
Their previous infrastructure in Akron, Ohio hindered their ability to thrive as the global headquarters. The company’s leadership realized it needed to transition from a highly fragmented headquarters environment to a workspace that would accommodate collaboration, development and support the demands of a global workforce.
Vocon was chosen by OMNOVA Solutions to help the company build a new headquarters from the ground up. By applying its full-scale architectural and workplace strategy capabilities, Vocon designed the new nearly 60,000 square foot headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. To help OMNOVA attract and retain top talent, reduce operating costs and enhance teamwork globally, Vocon integrated modern lifestyle elements, technology and sustainable design into the new space, including:
- OMNOVA-engineered surfaces and performance chemical products throughout the facility to communicate the company’s brand, core values and company culture to current and potential employees
- A mobility plan with progressive workplace strategies, providing workers with access to resources on and offsite
- Key sustainability elements to achieve LEED certification, including indigenous landscaping, low VOC finishes, lighting controls, and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
