Gresham, a technology and software company needed an office as a result of accelerating expansion and to provide their staff with an office that can bring everyone together. The Brew House in Bristol, a grade II listed industrial building in the heart of the city was chosen to be their new home. Interaction created an office space to attract talent, support retention, increase bonds and ultimately showcase the company.
Interaction decided upon a contemporary office design to suit the modern and innovative company, but the Brew House is an old building with a lot of stunning original features that had to be accentuated and preserved. It was important for Interaction to introduce design features that enable employees to work in a different way. A tiered seating area was created which transformed Gresham’s idea of what they wanted from a meeting room, creating a flexible and colourful room that is now one of the most used areas in the office.
Overall the large open plan office space was designed to highlight the fun and fast-paced environment that Gresham represents. The space encourages employees to collaborate and work together, not just within but across different departments. With more focused work areas adjacent to the open plan space in order for people to have the freedom to choose the way they want to work. The result is a playful and energetic workplace that supports wellbeing, and brings people together, since moving into the Innovation Labs Gresham has filled its vacant positions in Bristol in just a few months; something they have been trying to do for 2 years!
